Core Purpose:   Running a vibrant youth club

Context:   St John’s church started a youth club for children in the local community in September 2018.  This was with the help of a grant from the Police (Active Citizens Fund) and with volunteer helpers from the church and local community.  The youth club has become popular and highly valued by local families, and there are between 25 and 40 young people who attend each week, with around 70 on the register.  The success of the recruitment of children to the youth club means that we now wish to appoint someone to oversee the management and running of the youth club and build on the current success.  This will involve engaging with the community, leading activities and leading and being supported by an extensive team of volunteers numbering around 16.  We are looking for someone with experience of working with young people (6-17) in a range of contexts, and who would bring skills and experience to continue to build on the current provision at the youth club, able to lead and manage the volunteers.   The youth club serves a range of children and young people in the local area, of all faiths and none.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo full DBS clearance.

·       To listen and respond to youth club members and their interests, and to respond to their ideas, feedback and preferences as appropriate

·       To participate in regular youth club team and volunteer meetings

·       To support any bids for external funding
