Safeguarding

St John’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and adults, and expects all church members and visitors to share and promote this commitment.

All our regular youth leaders and volunteers undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check in accordance with the Diocese of Birmingham guidelines. The vicar and all licensed pastoral ministers are also DBS checked in accordance with Diocesan guidelines.

The Parish Safeguarding Officer is Helen Greenwood (our Children and Families Missioner). Any concerns, however small, should be reported to her or to the Vicar.

If you have any safeguarding concerns or need to talk to someone please contact:

Helen Greenwood (Safeguarding Co-ordinator) - 07907 779814

Revd Danny Payne - vicar@sjpb.org.uk or 0747 500 5055.

If you cannot contact the people above and someone is being harmed or is not safe and needs immediate help, dial 999, or contact social care services, or, for a child, the NSPCC helpline 0808 800 5000.
You might also choose to contact the Bishop's Safeguarding Adviser, Steph Haynes: 07342 993 844 or StephH@cofebirmingham.com
